Is it a dedicated Mac or a virtual machine?
A dedicated Mac. The whole machine is yours: real Apple Silicon hardware running macOS, not a VM and not shared with anyone else.
Which Macs can I rent?
Mac Studio and Mac mini, each in the top configuration of its chip, from the Mac Mini M1 2020 8GB up to the Mac Studio M5 Ultra 512GB. For bigger models, clusters of up to 4 Mac Studio M5 Ultras are linked over Thunderbolt 5.
What can I run on it?
Anything that runs on macOS. Most customers run open AI models (Llama, Qwen, DeepSeek, Gemma, Mistral and more) with Ollama, LM Studio, MLX or llama.cpp. Because it is a full Mac, it also works for Xcode builds, testing and other Mac-only software.
How much memory do I need for my AI model?
Roughly half a gigabyte per billion parameters at 4-bit, plus room for context. Our AI Model Calculator does the math for you and shows how fast each Mac will run it.
